Powell French Country Hall Tree with Storage Bench, Maple/Linen Review
A beautiful piece. Set up is complicated by the fact that the provided wood screws are not up to all the tasks for which they were provided. Specifically, the back support (U), which is supposed to draw several pieces (I,J,U) together for a flush fit. Holes are predrilled and some have plastic inserts for a good bite. The four holes in the center of (U) did not have inserts. I had to improvise and use four bolts to atach the the center of the support (U). The wood screws (M) would not attach in the center and just popped loose. The edges did hold and the screws are still holding. I would suggest using regular 1.5 inch drywall screws to afix the the left and right ends (F,E to I,J) of the back support, as again, the screws provided just pulled loose. The back support is a two or three person job. Once completed, this thing is absolutely stunning. Lots of compliments. Seems sturdy enough, but it is a challenge to assemble. Still, I’d buy it again….its that nice an addition.
