I have a canister on my kitchen counter for regular flour, but I also regular use bread flour and wheat flour, both of which I was storing in my pantry in their original bags, which generally left a big mess behind every time I went to use either one. My sister gave me the idea of storing the flours in containers instead, but it was hard to find something just right–the container had to fit an entire (5-lb.) bag of flour, and it had to easily fit in my pantry.
These containers are perfect! They are definitely a good size, with plenty of room for a bag of flour (and then some, so no problem if I have some leftover from the previous bag). However, at only 9″ high, they are also a bit on the squat side, so no problem fitting them on my pantry shelf. As with all Snapware products, the easy-locking lid provides easy on-off access AND forms a tight seal. Plus, this product has the added bonus of a Flip-Top, so whenever I need to measure flour, I don’t even have to remove the entire lid–I simply unsnap the convenient Flip-Top! I am so happy I purchased these; I had actually purchased another product first, but I returned those once I found these canisters. They are sturdy, well-made, and so good that I plan to purchase other containers in this same line.
